The song despite being about one’s lowest point in life, aftermath of a breakup, is an extremely up-beat and mood lifting piece of music.In this song Jon is out of the denial phase of the breakup and now is just putting his current feelings out there for the world to see and not being ashamed of it or even seeking sympathy. He’s simply just putting out his experience for others to relate and follow the way out of this lowly phase of life.

Jon recalls early phases of his relationship and addresses how he is dwelling on those memories of the past. He was the savior rescuing the princess, a knight in shining armor of which every girl dreams of , who comes to save her from this evil world and takes her away in a world of his own. He wants relive the feeling of bliss when he thinks of her, reminding of her is his taste buds. But he realize that all of that is in the past and he can’t obtain the same feeling again from that same person.
